I was looking for a non-traditional ceiling medallion for my Organic Modern decorating style. This is perfect. It is real wood and you can smell it. It comes in a variety of colors and I chose one that ties my "greige" colors with darker browns. Also, we need to move the ceiling fixture because it is not centered over the dining table. We were looking for valances or other treatments for our bathroom and bedroom windows, and determined these matched the window sill and crown molding in the rooms, so we used these as interior window headers. They are nicely proportioned....not too tall and not too deep. Easy to attach to the wall with 1x1 firring strips. Easy to paint to match trim.
