UPDATE The planks were positioned the wrong way initially but upon trying again they all fit, albeit tightly. Once the alignment was settled, the bookshelf was easy to build. Seems very solid and strong for MDF. The metal frame is a good thickness, not too hideously clunky, about 2cm (less than 1 inch.) I have placed a great deal of books on it, including several heavy coffee table books and textbooks. Only time will tell how well it holds. All in all, very pleased with the product and its Bauhaus-look. Would potentially buy another as my library grows. ORIGINAL Top plank measures 10.5inches while the top bar opening measures 9.5inches. How was this ever supposed to fit????. Jessica. Pico Rivera, CA. Tue Apr 28 2026

You can use it for actual storage in any place in your room, improving your organization and showcasing your favorite books/trinkets and other decorative accents for your space, a convenient solution to the problem of stacking.

I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure. This will most likely be my last order from Wayfair due to shopping online isn't as expected when you get it in person.. Anonymous. Sun Jul 12 2026
