Really very cheaply made, and I don’t know if it will hold up because the kinks never came out of it the way it was folded into the box in spite of laying it out in warm area like instruction suggested. It is much thinner plastic than what I had on my nice fridge so I don’t know that it will insulate as well. Have not installed it yet because I think it will be difficult and was going to replace my old one immediately because it is torn at the bottom but now I’m waiting a bit because I don’t think this one is going to be very good. I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better.
