These are amazing. We have used them for camping and they’re incredible. Right now they’re in my living room being used as “furniture” while we wait for a new couch to arrive . Camping cots sure are an upgrade to the ground or an air mattress. The tautness of the cot provides a firm base to sleep on. The mattress pad adds a little cushion but is not of of a firm design. Even though it is an XXL I would imagine someone talllarge could still feel limited in having enough room to toss or turn. I am Petite and sleep on my side in fetal position. I did feel a little restrained in how much I could curl up before my knees were off the cot. Love the bed, sturdy and seems to be constructed well. I added the assembly and the two guys that showed up were very polite and courteous. They also got the job done in 2 hours. My only issue is when the guys (hired through Handyman) were putting it together some of the wood frame pieces were taped together. This is really fantastic for what we needed which was a back-up bed that also could store books and other things. Overall I love it but I'm knocking a star off because of what I feel is a fault in the construction of the pull-down bed legs. Pros: This is such compact furniture and puts a lot in a small space while still looking great. The cupboard doors hold tight, the dimensions were as advertised. It looks really nice in the room. For me, the built-in plug and USB ports were a bonus but now that I see them in use they make me love the bed all the more. The lights are great and look really nice. I couldn't find anything else that fit in this space that did so much. The kids like to come in and pull this bed down to study on now. I drilled an extra hole in the bottom of the shelf in the tall cupboard and installed my own charging station in the cupboard for all of the family devices which is super handy. This is a mix of real wood and press board. Cons: The biggest con (and it's big) is that the legs on the bed are rounded and slip on our carpet (average carpet) and so I will have to buy rubber feet or something pretty sturdy to keep them in place. I haven't troubleshot that yet but I'm sure there's a solution. I still would have bought the bed, but I wish they had included something like that in the kit. Until I put something rubber on the bottom, no one (not even kids) could sleep on the bed because the legs will slip out from under the bed just from natural movement on the bed. In the picture of the slipped leg, the leg has no weight of the bed on it. I should note though that we've also forgotten to put the legs on it and the bed has not collapsed. The legs are for stability, but not the only thing holding the bed up. No one who has tried the bed is more than 175 lbs. Con#2: There isn't a great place to put the switch for the lights. That's a little hard to explain, but the wires are sort of hanging off the side. I plan on 3D printing something that will conceal them better for safety. Good info to know: This is a beast to put together and while most of it we did with just one or two people, we did need at least a 3rd and used a 4th and 5th person for a couple of the steps. There are short videos to go with the instructions-- just videos of the guys in the shop assembling it so you could see what they did-- no instruction from them. I highly recommend looking ahead in the directions to see what a part will become so that you have it oriented correctly. We caught most of these mistakes ahead but not all. We had the whole bed assembled only to realize that the holes for the bed handles were installed upside down and it was a big bummer to take so much apart just to flip one board the opposite direction (which wasn't indicated in the written directions or video). This absolutely needed a drill to put together (we used two), and not just Allen wrenches. Many holes are not predrilled. Please note that you absolutely must anchor this to the wall. Attached to the wall I am not worried for a second that it will tip but during assembly I was afraid multiple times that it would tip on us. Just the hydraulic of the bed would be enough and often, during assembly, that's what we needed the extra hands for-- just holding it against the wall so it wouldn't tip while we worked.
