Weathervanes have been looked up to for hundreds of years. Popular in Europe, the weathervane is valued for its function as much as its design. Farmers, seafarers, and others would watch the weather vane to get the weather forecast by paying close attention to changes in breathing, an indicator of bad or good weather. It is a hand-crafted fully-functional weathervane. Yes, it will still tell you if the wind is changing direction and will look great doing so.

I like to start a review with the packaging. So, it came in a box, very well cared for inside, fragile label on all sides, and it arrived via FedEx in perfect condition. Good job, Fedex!! Upon assembly I noticed it was very straight forward (mechanical mind not necessary), the instructions were clear and written in my language. Looking at this beautiful piece fully assembled made me feel almost awe struck, with its glowing copper eagle, and brass cardinal directions. Solid piece! I've capped the cupola I'm building with it and it made it even more pretty! The only downside that I could find us that it does not come with the mount. Not really a downside though and if I had read the description better I would've known that before the purchase. You will love this piece. I'd include a photo, but Wayfair is not specific on what type of file is allowed.. Carl. Middletown Springs, VT. Sat Oct 01 2022

Replacing another Eagle that blew away in a storm. Did a lot of research, ended with this weathervane. It is a classic but, it doesn’t seem to be so ostentatious. Liked the design better of the next size up, but thought it might be too large (tall) for my copula. It’s winter, so I have not climbed up to install it yet. I Know I’m taking a risk, but the price was right and the reviews on all the sites seem to think Whitehall products are pretty good. Hope I’m right!. Howard. Merrick, NY. Thu Mar 05 2026
