Dark Wood

This dining table is inspired by French antiques (without the hefty price tag) and is just right for welcoming loved ones to your dining room or kitchen. With two 18" removable leaves, the table extends to 122" long to accommodate two armchairs and six side chairs for large gatherings. Without the leaves, the table will seat two armchairs and four side chairs. This rectangular table has a turned, double trestle base that creates a focal point in any home while welcoming in a touch of traditional style. We love how its natural wood grain looks against a white shiplap wall with a warm Persian-style rug layered underneath.

Durham sets a wheel alight, softened by a wide drum shade of off-white linen. Set in a streamlined style that doesn’t evoke any specific age, Durham works especially well in transitional and neutral spaces. PLEASE NOTE that the body and shade of 6539 is oval; 6530 and 6542 are circular.

I am very happy with this fixture. It is large but still works well in rooms with lower ceiling height (9' shown). It is heavy and well made. It also lets off a good amount of light. Produced and published by one of the earliest proponents of the style, Albert Ruger, this stunning depiction of Durham shows the city in a period of significant transformation and growth as the nation recovered in the decades following the conclusion of the American Civil War. Ruger was prolific throughout his career and produced some of the most enduring birds eye perspectives of the nineteenth century. Ruger’s early works laid the groundwork for others who would go on to continue his legacy into the 1920s, when advances in aviation and photography made the style obsolete. Birds eye perspectives bear a unique aesthetic and distinctive style that immediately transports the viewer back in time, creating an indelible bond between the past and present. Durham’s classic architecture dates to the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and remains an enduring part of its rich history and distinct culture. Durham became the hub of North Carolinas tobacco trade after the Civil War ended, bringing significant prosperity to the Raleigh-Durham-Cary triangle. By 1891 a thriving textile industry further spurred economic prosperity and attracted residents from across the South who built communities based around cultural lines. The prominence of the railroad in this map illustrates the significance the line had to the city and region’s local economy. Goods were able to flow from the more agrarian Western portions of North Carolina to major markets in the Northeast and Europe. Just got it, and love it. Lovely polished natural stone creamy with brown flecks. When you run your hand over it there are few places where you can feel a real stone texture. Love that the feet are adjustable! The delivery team helped even the feet out for me so it didn't wobble. My first Wayfair purchase and was very happy with the communication and the delivery. This is natural stone, which upon reading the sticky label attached to the base, I discovered has no coating and needs special care for cleaning and is, apparently, easily stained. Label had one sentence about recommended to clean with either ammonia and water or mineral spirits (which I would pass on since it will stink up my house for eternity). I used a damp soft cloth.
