It’s the first piece of furniture in any home. There's nothing as warm and welcoming as a crackling fire in an open fireplace. The dancing flames can lift your spirits and melt away the most stressful day in a matter of minutes. But to truly be part of the home, a fireplace must warm our hearts even when there is no fire in the grate. Pearl does not treat the mantel as trim or molding but as a beautiful piece of furniture that is the focal point of the entire room, the emotional core. It represents roots, heritage, and tradition. Furniture is arranged around it, precious treasures are displayed on it, and it provides balance and stability to the entire room. Pearl mantels feature fine furniture quality, stunning details, and classic designs that will enhance any decor. The Newport is simple at its best; tailored for any room, this mantel is created from medium-density fiberboard also known as MDF. The legs attach easily to the header with nuts and bolts. Mitered hanger board assembly is included for easy installation as well as a 3-piece mitered scribe molding set to hide any gaps after installation. 100% RECLAIMED WOOD: This kit is a great alternative to our barn wood offerings and still promotes sustainability. It shows off unique colors and textures due to its origin, usage and wear. And we've prepped it for use - it's been de-nailed and milled, so it's ready to use and install the same day! DISTINCTIVE APPEARANCE: Every piece looks different. Each bundle includes a mixture of species from pine, oak, cherry, walnut, poplar, maple, hickory and more! TWO DIFFERENT LOOKS IN ONE: Choose to show off the destressed side or flip the board over to showcase the natural grain. Or be unique and use a mix of both! VARYING WIDTHS: Boards are 4.5’’ wide and vary in length from 12" to 44" and are 1/4" thick. The boards are a total of 11 sq. ft. DO IT YOURSELF: Whether you're a DIY-er or professional contractor, our barn wood kits are easy to install. A hammer, nails, and tape measure are all you need. No messy adhesives or tricky stripping to cut and mount - simply hold in place and nail. HOW TO GET STARTED: To calculate the square footage you need, measure the height and width of your space. Height (in inches) x Width (in inches) / 144 = the amount of square footage you need. We always recommend adding an extra 5-10% to account for any errors or issues that may occur during your project. Our reclaimed wood kits are sold in boxes of 11 square feet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful supply of Antique reclaimed wood. Can be used in many different applications. Very easy to work with. For use indoors or out, this live edged ASTM E136 non-combustible mantel shelf was replicated from a Pine wood beam found nestled in the woods near some old barns. Although its origin is unknown, its character is very much alive with its history. Saw marks, bark remnants, insect life, weathering and natural beauty are all meticulously captured and preserved by a patented molding material and then lovingly hand painted and finished. Made in the USA, this shelf has an 8 inch depth allowing for ample room on top for personal affects. Due to the natural imperfections captured from the reclaimed wood, the top of the mantel shelf will have natural offsets and depressions, versus a flush top, and the dimensions will vary slightly, i.e. shelf height and depth will be marginally different across the entire mantel. 6”H x 8”D 110lbs. When mounting your mantel, adhere to “clearances to combustibles” specifications of your fireplace insert or stove.
