This is the stoneware set I always dreamed of having- one with character and presence. I have had glazed stoneware that was so bland. This set is very beautiful-the glaze is simple. And the dark flecks are gorgeous. They have a Studio Blue- I found that a bit too busy. But the Studio Grey is actually shades of blue. The Light Grey is a grey blue. And the dark grey is a deeper shade of grey blue. I bought a set of extra bowls and dinner plates in the darker grey- PERFECTION! Looks great with my new kitchen. Can it comment of wear and tear. But these are hefty and deserve any extra care required. Very neatly Stackable. Love these dishes!!! And the packing is so over the top wrapped- not a single one was chipped or had imperfection. The finish is absolutely beautiful (online pictures do not reveal how truly lovely they are). They wash easily and maintain that lovely finish year-after-year. Microwaving is no problem for Denby bowls. They do not crack in my microwave like some brands. I can actually feel the quality of the bowls when I hold them. Rice is better in the right bowl! This is an additional bowl. The other is a beautiful blue but matching colors or collections is not a priority when the serving dish is perfect. No complaints at all. The Studio series is heavier and more rustic than other series Denby makes. I wish I had known that earlier, as I would have bought more items from the Studio series.
