This is a great addition for small critters. I considered it for newborn kittens that I foster. Having a divider for compartments is nice, and it looks more discreet, like furniture rather than simply a cage. It looks like the picture. A bit bulky, so be sure to measure out the space and ensure that the measurements will be the size and area that you need it to be but it’s great for the intended purpose. This hamster cage is the best one I’ve ever owned! It only took about 20 minutes to put it all together. The natural wood design makes it cozy and stylish, while the multi-level platforms, wheel, and ramp keep my hamster entertained and active. The deep base holds plenty of bedding for burrowing. It's a decent cage but came with some screws that were not really ideal for putting it together. Also instructions were a little vague but not too hard to figure out and takes longer than 45 minutes to put together even with 2 people even using a power drill. Also power drill is a must since they only made holes on one side of it to put together. Also, there could of been better attachment pieces for the top and bottom without having to add locks on it. I rescued some baby squirrels that had lost their mother and it was perfect for them until they were old enough to set free. They now live happily in my parents back yard where they have lots of trees and two small ponds. My parents put food out for them to make sure they are eating well and they come to visit whenever my parents out in the yard. So far this is working out for our hamster. We made the bottom section a big burrowing area with paper bedding and just made it lower by the doors so it didn't fall out if we needed to open it. This is one of the only cages that was close to the recommended sizes for a hamster and it was able to fit everything we planned. I wish every screw hole was pre drilled but being careful and using a drill I was able to make it work. Taking the film off one of the glass sides was harder to take off but was able to manage.. When making your own DIY guinea pig cage, a plastic cage liner is a must! Can fit a wire panel cage of the same size if wire panels are approx. 13.75"x13.75".
