This is a really beautiful wool rug that is currently selling for almost three times as much under another brand. It is all that I hoped for. I know it is hard shopping for neutral colored rugs online, so I included a photo with a neutral undertone wheel in natural light for reference. The recessed parts of the rug have a slight green-beige cast, and the raised parts are a very light taupey cream variegated with a pink beige that looks like a light tint of a maroon brown in the darkest parts. I think it coordinates well with natural linen color and unbleached cotton as well as cool sandy tans or mocha and cocoa colored neutrals. It might look dirty next to yellowy creams or light tints of cool blue grays. I included a photo with a natural straw mat and a bamboo box to show how it would look next to light wood with a more yellow cast. I'm so excited to have this rug in my home! I am very partial to natural fibers, and was pleased by how affordable this 8' x 10' wool and cotton rug was, especially since it's hand woven. What was truly unexpected was how soft it is! I bought it for my dining room, but I almost want to order another one for the living room so I can just lay down on it--it's that soft and fluffy. That fluffiness makes me slightly wary of how easy or hard it might be to move dining room chairs in/out from the table, as the overall pile is a little higher than I would normally look for in a dining room rug, but time will tell. I'm thrilled to find a modern, neutral rug with this much character. It's described as "farmhouse" but I don't get that vibe from it at all. I have a geometric blocked rug in my living room with shades of red, orange, and burgundy, and the geometric pattern on this Ulmer rug puts the two in concert with each other without looking "matchy-matchy." I had to replace a rug I loved (bought on Wayfair years ago) and I had been eyeing this one for a while. So glad I got it! It leans gray-beige which is perfect for my colors. This rug is soft and low pile. It was packaged really well and did lay flat after only one day. I have this rug in my kids room, and I have had to vacuum it a lot, and it has held up well.
