It came doubled in heavy plastic, very well protected. There are no imperfections. The background color is brown, the other colors are gold, tan, blue, and red; however, they are muted colors, e.g., not bright. I am very pleased with the quality, appearance, price. I’m a huge fan of wool rugs because of their durability and is important if you have high traffic or animals. Some wool rugs shed and it takes quite a while for this to subside, but this rug has zero shed!! The rug is beautiful with colors that are muted and earthy. Overall, I love the rug! For the price, it is great quality. My only negative is the color. I ordered the rug because it was labeled as red and navy. Our kitchen cabinets are barn red and we have an open kitchen and living area. It is not red, it is more of a rust color.
