I do like this swing. It was quite easy to put together, just watch as some of the bolts are similar in size. The part I don’t like is the chain placement, I think over time it will indent the arm of the swing. It has started to already as you can see in the one picture. The swing from Almont Co arrived in 2 boxes ready to be put together. The directions were simple but a little confusing. I also used my own tools to assemble it. It took about 2 hours and it looked good but it would look nicer if the bolts and chain were a brown or bronze. The bare steel really stands out. Overall it’s a nice comfortable swing. We had purchased the same porch swing stand 10 years ago and it held up really well in our harsh Florida weather (we had stained it for weather proofing, so that was a big factor for it doing so well). It was time to purchase a new one because the old one was starting to rot in certain places. I did not hesitate to repurchase the same stand. This time I wanted to stain it white to match our swing. The instructions could use a little more detail to help with the assembly, but we figured it out. To assemble the stand, you need a drill, a mallet, and a socket wrench or wrench. The manufacturer provides you with a Robertson drill bit for the 3” screws. We needed 3 people to start the first installation step. 2 people were needed to assemble the rest of it. I thought the swing was 5-star, but the ‘A’ frame was a disappointment. Specifically, because the corner braces were not cut in such a way that they fit smoothly into place. Instead there were gaps and all 6 braces were either too short or too long and had to be trimmed. I would have expected this type of an issue if the swing came from a foreign market, but not when made in the USA. Originally, I ordered the 66” unfinished but the 56” was delivered (upon measuring it we found it is really 53”-that was disappointing) . Wayfair was willing to switch it out for the 66” but also gave us an option of refunding the difference. We decided to take the refund due to having company coming and wanted the porch finished. I did a light spray paint to give it a washed paint look to match the antique metal chairs and table we have. The swing also comes with cup holders on each side that you need a smaller sized glass or cup to fit into the opening, regardless, it is a great option. It was easy to assemble and well constructed and with the chaise cushion we added gives a very comfortable to sit or lay down. I love the appearance using ropes to hang the chair. I am giving it a 4 star rather than 5 because it is not the full 56”. Other than that, it is a great price, solid construction, and looks as good as the more expensive versions.. Lorraine.
