Installation was a bit tricky as this was the first custom shower drain I have installed but I was able to figure it out. Once installed this drain is awesome. The large water collection area prevents any kind of pooling and has a luxurious feel about it. Best feeling shower ever! I felt this “PowderRain” shower head at a local supplier showroom and fell in love with it. The price here is ALOT lower! My plumber was impressed with the high quality parts. Don’t position the rain shower head too high above your head or the water will not be the right force and will cool down before it gets to you. About 12-15” I think is ideal. Found this out the hard way. Iwanted it tall enough for my husband, but we installed it too high to be optimal. The settings on the handheld shower wand are nice. There are three -one that has more force for rinsing out shampoo, and another with a spiral massage, as well as the same powder rain as the wall mounted shower head. It feels like getting soaked with a soft rain. More of a relaxing sensory experience which is why the other stronger setting on the handle shower is useful. The wall rod adjusts the height of the handwand easily and can be used as a separate overhead shower as well. I purchased the brushed nickel and the wall controller does get water spots so must be cleaned accordingly. (The grab bars in my picture were purchased separately and are not included in this kit). Wish I could have installed this myself, but alas, I watched from the sidelines as my tiler and plumber experts worked in tandem over a few days with the drain and eventually the final product/install. Trying to stay out of the expert’s way, I can now truly appreciate this upgraded elegant look. This was certainly an upgrade from our “plain drain” that we had lived with since we bought our house. This RainDrain easily captures the flow of water but also easily captures my spouse’s long strands of hair. It easily matched our other fixtures.
