I really wanted to check out the quality of the product before actually committing to it. I have applying this over a stone floor to hopefully have a cleaner look overall. Since the actual project requires nearly 5000 sq ft I want to make sure that this project will maintain the design continuity and overall quality standard I'm looking for. That can be tricky when you want to stay under $10.00 per foot. I also had my installer give me his opinion since he's the one who's going to have to work with it. From my prospective the color is what I'm looking for, and the Herringbone design will give just enough texture in these large rooms to be interesting. First, I would like to start off with... I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER AND THE OPTION TO INSTALL PROFESSIONALLY IS NOT OFFERED. Now, with that out of the way, I love this color flooring and the materials are so smooth when walking on it. The rich walnut goes perfect with my gold accent curtains. It makes the room feel really warm. It is important to purchased the right amount and place the panels in the right directions. The picture and the box that it comes in shows how the placement of the panels go. Do not put them all going in 1 direction, it will not work. I chose the snap and lock ones because I didnt want to get involved with all of that glue, also, I really didnt want to pull my vinyl flooring up because I am not a professional and if I messed up, I could just pull the panels up and hire a professional. (I pulled them up after taking the picture and Im hiring a professional right after this review lol). It seems easy enough, however, I need to pull my base boards off and pull my vinyl up so that they can secure properly. I actually used these tiles to redo the carpet on a set of dog stairs. I used upholstery tacks to fasten the squares to the stairs, so the glue didnt matter as much to me, which is a good thing. If I were laying these as flooring, I would have been very disappointed in the adhesive. It had barely any stickiness to it at all. I also didnt care for the texture (reminds me of astroturf) and it appears to have shiny threads scattered throughout. The carpet is very, very thin, so I wouldnt use it in a high traffic area, either.
