The optional griddle is one accessory that is a must have. It is a direct replacement for the grate so it will fit with all Kenyon electric grills. For Texan owners, this means you can have one side for grilling, and one side with a griddle, or both sides with a griddle. This cast aluminum griddle is coated with the longest lasting non stick coating available and is the best way to prepare breakfast or anything else that requires a flat surface. To clean, simply take a wet paper towel and a set of tongs after you have finished using and wipe across to loosen any remnants, if that is not enough, after the griddle has cooled it can be placed in the dishwasher and will look like new every time.

The griddle is a nice add on but since it's small like the grill it's hard to cook a lot of stuff on it like pancakes. I have to make a batch and put in the oven for warming. I will say the pancakes came out excellent but probably the same as a cheap electric griddle. I'd recommend getting the griddle but it's quite expensive for what it is. Funny instructions for doing so call for "a thick layer of kosher salt and a HALF-INCH of cooking oil" (emphasis mine, where 1/2 mm was probably meant). It features Heavy-gauge Tri-ply body construction and fits on most sync burner cooktops. It has convenient offset handles and an easy-to-use pouring spout. This durable pan provides even heat distribution and precise temperature control with easy release of food and convenient cleanup. It's also perfect for all cooking tops, including magnetic induction.

I set the heat much lower than normal on my glass-top range (between low and medium) and after about 5 minutes of preheating the griddle was ready to go. The griddle cooks beautifully. My first test was pancakes: I wiped the hot griddle with oil on a paper towel and had no problems flipping even after a couple of batches. For cleaning, while the griddle was still warm (not hot), I pushed a paper towel around the griddle with the spatula to pick up excess oil and residue then went over the surface again with a wet non-scratch Scotch-Brite pad with a drop a soap and rinsed. The instructions advise you can use a metal cleaner to restore the original luster. I've used this griddle 3 times and really like it.
