This came in the mail. I live in an apartment so I had to go down and bring up a 90 pound box from the mail room. As, FedEx did not even bother to bring it to my door. I open the box and it’s tons of pieces to assemble together. I start trying to assemble it together, and the holes were either not already drilled, or they were way too small for the screws. Overall, this is a sturdy, well-made gun safe. It was well packaged, arrived quickly, and feels very solid and secure. My biggest issue is that the product description states that the safe has a biometric fingerprint lock, but the one I received does not. It does have a digital code lock powered by an internal battery, and it includes a backup battery in case the internal battery fails. However, there are no instructions explaining how to use the backup battery, which would have been helpful. The safe itself seems to be good quality and I’m happy with how sturdy it feels. I just think the product description needs to be updated to accurately reflect the locking system, and the manufacturer should include more detailed instructions for setup and operation.. Melanie. The primary purpose for me is keeping firearms safely secured and out of the hands of curious children, and I believe it accomplishes that well. That said, buyers should have realistic expectations about the level of security this safe provides. It is not a high-security safe designed to withstand a determined thief, and it offers no fire protection whatsoever.
