The 8000 BTU cooling power is well suited for rooms up to 300 square feet, and it does a great job bringing the temperature fairly quickly without running excessively loud. The airflow is strong at 256 CFM, which helps distribute the cool air evenly throughout the room. One of the biggest advantages is the built in electric heat (4200BTU), making it useful year round. The smart features, 24 hours timer, auto restart, and remote control make it convenient to operate without constantly adjusting the unit manually. The use of R-32 refrigerant is also a plus since it is more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to older models. The built quality is sturdier and typical for Friedrich products, which are known for their high durability. This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is.
