Love it!!! I paid $1500 to a general contractor to assemble it, took 7 hours and I paid $3500 to an electrician to run 220V to the back yard which took 6 hours. Still more than half the cost of the lowest price given at a local store here in San Diego. Great quality, gets as hot as advertised in about 15 minutes, but San Diego is never cold, so starting temp is always around 70 degrees. This was a great buy. The instructions were very helpful, use the app as well. I am mechanically and electrically savvy and this took me 9 hours start to finish including electrical work. We have had our sauna assembled since March 27th and haven't missed a day using it since. I wake up first looking forward to my morning coffee and then getting into our sauna for a good sweat before bed. A cold shower following is as close as we can get to a cold plunge for now. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Quality Real Sauna Experience Delivery was fast and professional — they rolled the crate right into my garage. Everything arrived in perfect condition and very well packaged. Assembly took about 12 hours with two people. I’m pretty handy, but having a second person definitely helps. The barrel design goes together logically if you take your time. The cedar wood quality is excellent, and once heated, the smell is incredible — exactly what you expect from a traditional sauna. The 6 kW heater performs great. It heats the sauna to 180°F in about an hour. I prefer higher temps (185°F), and with minor airflow adjustments I’m confident it can reach 185–190°F. Steam over the stones feels strong but comfortable. As a heavy sauna user, I was very satisfied with how my body felt afterward — deep relaxation and a powerful sweat. Energy use seems reasonable for a 6 kW unit. Important tip The heater has a delay timer zone. To start heating immediately, turn the knob clockwise past the delay section and then back slightly into the first heating zone. Otherwise, it will wait before turning on. Also, after about one hour the heater automatically shuts off, so you’ll need to repeat the turn-on procedure if you want to maintain heat longer. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase. I spent a lot of time shopping for a sauna when we were ready. Came across backyard discovery in my search and initially was skeptical, because there are a lot of companies that are "faceless" and once you buy the thing, you'll never get support again. I reached out and was pleasantly surprised to find people immediately available to help me, and also to find that this is a company that has been around a long time. Pulled the trigger on a REALLY well priced sauna. Showed up fast. I took my time building it, and everything went together super well. Especially happy with the included metal roof to protect the top from the elements. Heater is very nice, heats the sauna to 150 in like 15 mins right now. I oiled the entire thing on the exterior with paraffin oil, and did the benches too. When the 195ºF temperatures become too hot, cool off on the exterior benches before hopping back in. The Harvia 6kW electric heater can start heating up right away, or be delayed up to eight hours.
