Unfortunately, despite this brand being known for their quality the motor was defective, as determined by two different electricians (I found it hard to believe it was a new fan and assumed it was the wiring). Wayfair also only gave me the options of a 25% discount if I kept a defective fan that doesn't work or giving me money back and me being out the cost of the electrician to take the old fan down and install a new one so either way I got screwed over by this purchase. We looked around for a long time to find this fan! I purchased this fan for my family room. It arrived well packed and quickly. It's been fantastic! I love this fan for it's looks more than any other fan in our home. It's just beautiful, not an eye sore like some fans can be. Transitional, modern, clean. I like the white, it disappears into the ceiling. The gold is a nice touch. It can go in almost any style of room. It elegantly updated my family room. Minka Aire moves the air around well and we really can't even hear it other than the soft sound of air moving. The remote makes it convenient to use and has a lot of nice features. The light is nice although we also have 4 can lights because the ceiling is tall and it was needed due to the size of the room and ceiling height. Still, it is nice to sometimes only have this light on when in the room. It gives off nice light and is adjustable too. Fan is not hung yet, but I have unboxed it to check the part's inventory and assure it is in good condition. This fan is so quiet, you wouldn’t know it was running- if not for the wind! It is a true 6 speed fan, not just 3 speeds in two directions, which I’ve seen advertised in other fans. The amount of wind is quite impressive, that rarely do I set it above 3 anyhow. Installation was really quite simple, and not as complicated as the many pieces would have you assume. I absolutely love this fan! It looks like a big flower hanging from the ceiling when its not moving. When it is on, it gives great airflow.
