This is a frameless shower door meaning it has frame left and right and bottom except the top. As a result, the frame prevents water from splashing out of the shower door and leaks. We love our frameless shower panel. We bought one wide enough to keep the water from spraying out. Our handyman who helped installed it had never installed one and was skeptical. We needed his tool because we were drilling into very thick large wall tiles. Wayfair delivered the glass to the bathroom and it was well packed so we did not worry about breakage. My husband lined up placement of the pins which the handiman drilled in. The two of them placed and secured it. I have one of those bathrooms reminiscent of the 1990s despite my home being built in the early 2000s. Big garden tub that never gets used with a stall shower next to it. The shower was so gross. Metal all rotted, difficult to slide the door. I would love to redo the bathroom entirely, but I thought let's just try a new door to start. It truly has refreshed the bathroom so much. I wish I could figure out how the heck to replace/get rid of the half glass wall but that'll have to come next. I did have to get a height that was just a smidge too big too, as my measurement wasn't found anywhere. Easy to install ,nice door ,my opinion i would stay closer to the 48 inch size opening like 46 to48 ,i know it only another 2 inches to the 44 inches it says it can fit but it doesn't leave alot of room for the opening , it will work just suggest the person using the shower be on the smaller side..
