This is an extremely solid piece. However, the color is much darker than that pictured. It is really more brown undertones than gray. That was very disappointing. I understand that hand painted pieces can differ in color but gray should be gray, not brownish. Also, the top is not a completely flat surface. There are grooves in it which may result in dust build up or crumbs from food getting stuck in them. Lastly, although the drawers are on slides, they are not self closing. I put off buying this nightstand for a year because of the price. If you have the Kingstown TB bed, just buy these. The height and size are a perfect complement. Be mindful that while the nightstands are large, the drawer capacity is not due to the design.
