I do like this swing. It was quite easy to put together, just watch as some of the bolts are similar in size. The part I don’t like is the chain placement, I think over time it will indent the arm of the swing. It has started to already as you can see in the one picture. The packaging and quality of the cedar is very good. Like Teal, of Pomona, NY stated in their review: it’s a box of wood and bag of hardware and some very simplistic instructions. As a prolific builder and DIYfer I used my experience in assembling the arch. Fortunately, I have a pneumatic brad nailer with galvanized brads which made short time in nailing the many pieces together. I did not follow the slat spacing suggestions from the directions, rather having read the reviews, I made my own jig spacers after careful measurements. Pros: Good quality cedar; Looks excellent when completed; Assembly is straight forward once you figure out the spacing; Left unfinished the cedar will gracefully weather Cons: Directions need embellishment; Not for those wanting a quick assembly; Took over 6 hours to complete; Nails provided are not galvanized and should be of an outside product; Only 2 decorative wooden “arrows”---should be 4 for two on each side; Added longer and beefier exterior screws at the top/side joints for more strength. Great kit! Precise cuts, quality hardware and clear, well thought out instructions. The stain appeared to be somewhat thin so I stained every piece prior to assembly, 3 coats. Used Sherwin Williams exterior wood stain. Built on 4" thick concrete that we also stained. Drilled out the supplied post mounting brackets to 1/2" I.D. and used Tapcon 1/2" x 4" masonry anchors, 4 per post to secure structure to slab. We are very satisfied with the finished product.. The material is quality, the packaging adequate. There was some damage to the package and wood but was incidental enough to not warrant a return. The instructions were lacking in detail and important details like how to install the stove and protective barrier so it does not burn up was not included with the shipment. Some parts such as the rod for the wood door was missing. No video or instruction on how to install through the roof for the chiminey. The chat function was glitching and took many many retries to get it to allow me to have the text function started so I could talk with " a person" A chat bot not a person answered and I was not able to get anyone to assist. I can not complete the build without instructions so that it is done correctly and safely. Their text or chat help is not at all helpful and I was left just waiting for a response to chat and text that never came. I was told I would be transferred and that did not happen. NO resolution..
