We call this our “pretty shed”. It took 3 people to assemble and I recommend you stain and seal it pretty quickly as the pine wood absorbs water and spots if not sealed. I also recommend you use a power nailer since the siding shingles are fairly thin and when we tried to use a hammer they started to split. One of our favorite features is the built-in side bar surfaces—they’re incredibly convenient when we have friends over, giving us a safe place to set drinks and snacks while we relax in the hot tub. It also has a clean, modern design that really elevated the look of our backyard. We opted for professional installation, which made the whole process effortless and let us start enjoying it right away. One thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t a solid-roof pergola. The arbor is beautiful and strong. I gave it 4 stars because there is an issue. The lattice is made of very thin cedar (less than 1/4 of an inch) and it is stapled together. A few or the staples came loose during assembly and will need to be redone. I am considering adding stronger cedar boards on the sides to strengthen it. At this price point, I think the manufacturer should have used stronger wood for the lattice. There were also a few bumps and marks, but these were minor.
