My cats took to this immediately, from the time I had the pieces all over the floor, to the time it was built. I like how nice it looks in the house. I bought this gray wood and the darker wood version. It was fairly easy to build, especially if you use a power screw driver. There were a couple of places I had to drill the holes a little deeper to get the screws in, but I’m not very strong. The one thing t had trouble with is the bigger wood pieces had black plastic pieces on the corners. My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. My cats love these. We have two now, over for each cat, because the basket is their favorite part and they don't like to share. They are fairly easy to put together. I had a little bit of trouble orienting the process to the instruction booklet but that's a me-thing. It was missing one size of screw needed to securely fasten the center box. The directions are awful, there's a youtube video that shows a guy setting up a similar gate, his is French door style but the set up is very similar so it was helpful because we were totally lost trying to figure it out. Anyway its perfect for our needs. We needed to keeo 3 if our cats separate from one cat. They can slip through sometimes by messing with the side pole to move it over just enough to slip through but still this is a good enough solution for us. I love this thing. To start, I wouldn't consider it a cat condo at all; my cat is quite small but still wouldn't be able to fit into the cubby in the side. I suppose a kitten might fit, but why do that to a kitten, lol. The top is flat enough to rest things on without worrying that they'd fall off (I would not risk putting a drink there unless it's in a spillproof cup just in case, given how much of the kitty is white), and the legs are stable and even. The face is printed perfectly on the fabric. I'm keeping this next to an armchair and storing small things in the cubby (remotes, chargers etc) and would recommend it for that purpose, but also just because it's so darn cute.. Jessica. CT. The best! It’s extremely big and spacious especially for my large litter box. It holds a lot and is built to last. Screwed in back design instead of the cheap hammer in. Very tall and sturdy and I appreciate the lock on the bottom. 1 issue for me is the cable for the charging port is a tad short at least for me so the outlet has to be behind the furniture piece.
