My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. I bought this catio for my two outside cats, and they love it. I did not buy it for the raccoon but he seems to love it too. I did some modifications, like adding a small entrance door and an escape door, and I added hooks to the outside to hang a plastic curtain from when it rains. I also added a plastic corrugated roofing panel and sloped it towards my yard to divert rain water. I assembled this myself, and it was fairly easy. I ended up removing two of the platforms because my cats really dont need them since they are free to roam the yard and only use this catio for shelter sleeping. Pretty good product to be honest! The only thing I would change is that the doors would be magnetized with the outside lock rather than the smaller locks in the inside making it difficult to clean out the litter box if you have limited movement in your hands. My hands cramp very easily but that’s on me. I should have done more research on this but all in all, not that bad. Nice and spacious for an extra large litter box and a nice shelf. My cats took to this immediately, from the time I had the pieces all over the floor, to the time it was built. I like how nice it looks in the house. I bought this gray wood and the darker wood version. It was fairly easy to build, especially if you use a power screw driver. There were a couple of places I had to drill the holes a little deeper to get the screws in, but I’m not very strong. The one thing t had trouble with is the bigger wood pieces had black plastic pieces on the corners. I selected this enclosure in order to fit my cat's Tidy Cats Breeze XL litter box & the best area in my small apt. it can reside. All of the other cat box enclosures (I got tired of looking) are smaller. I would give it 5 stars if it were a bit taller & had a bigger side entrance. You may want to enlarge the cat entry prior to assembling, if you're using a larger litter box. The directions are awful, there's a youtube video that shows a guy setting up a similar gate, his is French door style but the set up is very similar so it was helpful because we were totally lost trying to figure it out. Anyway its perfect for our needs. We needed to keeo 3 if our cats separate from one cat. They can slip through sometimes by messing with the side pole to move it over just enough to slip through but still this is a good enough solution for us.
