I bought 2 stools. Putting them together was not difficult but a bit tedious. And of course the second unit went much easier. I was surprised at the size of the seat. I read so many reviews where people bought 15 3/4 inch, 16 inch diameter seats, and found them uncomfortable. When I found these stools had an 18 inch diameter, I said....Perfect. The seat IS perfect. Very comfortable. That includes the seat back. I have lower back issues and the cushion on the seat back is a great fit. The stools have a good weight and feel solid. If you don’t have a drill and the right bits, this could be a challenge. Aside from that, the rest of the assembly was straightforward, and all the parts were included. Overall, I’m really happy with these stools. They’re attractive, comfortable, and seem like they’ll hold up well over time. They do take a minute to assemble, and the instructions aren't great (had to redo a few bolts to get everything to line up properly, tip--get every bolt in before you tighten any of them, even a little bit), but the quality feels really nice. Also, if it matters to you, the swivel is not a "return" swivel. So if you're sitting in it, you can turn around, but they don't automatically return to the original position, which means I still have to go around and straighten them. I needed three new counter height bar stools to replace my very old ones. I was very specific in what I needed. I searched everywhere and landed on these swivel stool in dark grey but really more like light black. Once assembled they are solid. They swivel great and are very comfortable. The back is high enough for me and I like to lean back. There are no arms on the stool, but I am not missing them as I thought I would. You definitely need 2 people to assemble these. Some of the 'holes' in the first step where the cushion meets the backrest are not aligned very well. In one of the holes, a staple was in the way, so I had to remove it. The staple was for the fabric so by removing it, it was fine. That is the reason for the 4 stars, is the lining up the holes could be better. But overall, I was happy with the price, and the instructions were very easy to follow. Again, you MUST have two people to assemble it, or these will never get put together.. Anonymous.
