This double sliding door is one giant heavy beast, probably because of the 14” thick 2 glass door panels and the heavy duty hardware. It’s a beautiful unit but I really didn’t think it through. My shower is a fiberglass shell and because my house is over 100 years old, we don’t know yet if there are intact studs behind the shell. I bought 3 of these kits for my closet doors. My doors are 1 3/8 thick. I read a lot of reviews stating they would not work. At first they didn't work for me either, but after reading comments and looking at the instructions, if you place the rollers right ( by #) and put the door with #1 rollers in the back, it will work out with no scrapping. I gave it a four because it did not explain this well and I did a lot of extra work before I realized the issue! Easy to install ,nice door ,my opinion i would stay closer to the 48 inch size opening like 46 to48 ,i know it only another 2 inches to the 44 inches it says it can fit but it doesn't leave alot of room for the opening , it will work just suggest the person using the shower be on the smaller side.. The doors look really good. They were very well packed which was amazing and they arrived not damaged. The installation was straight forward and easy.
