Set up was fine . Please note that you can just plug into an electrical outlet . You do not need to “hard wire it” as the description says. It is easy. However, the unit has a defect! I've had one of these before but this one came packaged MUCH different and better protected. The fountain is easy, all you have to do is hook up the water pump, the only odd thing is once you've dropped the pump into the water, and the cord comes out, the cover that goes on the back has no cutout for the cord, it's just solid, which doesn't really work, but I was able to get it to stay, just not able to put the screw back in the way it arrived.
