The chair is made from very very good, firm leather. It looks, feels and acts like a typical "club" chair. The chair seat is on the narrow side, so keep that in mind. I am a 34" waist (fit in the chair very nicely) but much larger and you would be squeezed. As someone who grew up on a horse farm, I can say that the look and feel of the leather is very similar to a good English saddle. It certainly gives off the equestrian vibes!
