I assembled this alone with my drill (just needed Phillips bit no actual drilling holes, all my spots lined up fine.. I was worried seeing other reviews) my only issue is the ramp it broke off while moving the coop and reattaching was a hard reach. We did set it on paver stones I was worried about wood rotting overtime in wet winter ground. In addition to that we also added a chain run around the coop. To keep our 3 hens in this coop all the time would be mean. Too small of a open ground pecking spot for even 1 chicken...This is great for the 3 to lay eggs in and sleep in not to live in full time. Great starter coop! We ended up stapling chicken wire around the entire outside for extra protection and also added a second latch to the bottom of the door. Impressed with the amount of roosting space plus ground space. I plan on redoing the latches on the roosting boxes as they aren’t the strongest and predators “could” get in or my chickens could get out. We did have missing pieces to 4 of the latches and had to go buy some. Okay! SO- first time chicken owner here. We live in Maryland and are raising chicks and ducks from babies. We live in the woods and therefore have a ton of natural predators. The coop on its own is not SUPER sturdy, but not the worst quality I have seen and works well for a yard that slopes. There are some gaps, so we enclosed the top and bottom with hardware mesh stapled into the wood and secured with cement blocks just to be sure everything would be safe, and so far so good! The cover seems like it will be reasonable for the raincolder temps. Used Wayfair assembly service, which was good but it did take 3 men four hours to assemble just FYI. Overall, happy!. Anonymous.
