It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and keeps our cantilever umbrella nice and secure. We initially tried filling the base with sand, but quickly realized that was a pretty tedious process, so we switched to water instead. I bought this to replace the mdf mouldimg that our builder installed in our house and that is comparable to cardboard in my opinion. If something bumps the mdf, chunks just chip off.
