I absolutely love this pergola kit to do your own over a patio space, but, the instructions in giving one any kind of direction on how long it takes and really showing someone what they have to do were so, so poor. Said it would take a half hour. How about a couple of hours just to figure out how long the would needs to be then a day and a half to actually finish it. Not everyone is going to have a stone patio already in place so we will take some time away for that portion. We used redwood 4 x 4’s and had to remove the stones already in place and we took deck blocks and made it so they went upside down and placed them in the three holes we had removed the stones from so we could drill and place the hardware on the deck blocks to make them secure. The one thing that we found when trying to attach them into concrete there is not enough room to attach your hardware to it. So you have to drill your hole with a concrete 716th drill bit which also not mentioned so we had to buy a couple sizes till we had that figured out and then the picture shows us putting it into the metal piece and then hammering it into the wholes where it expands and holds it in place like a milky screw does in drywall. The other thing was how easily the screw heads would just snap off when you started screwing them into the wood. They give you plenty of hardware but we still had to go buy more as that was a huge issue so many broke and found no instructions on where to really start placement of pieces. We had to take sections apart just to attach a piece that was already in place to have the 4 x 4. If my daughter in law wasn’t good at figuring this out I might be on it for a few months, she did a beautiful job and it looks amazing and I can’t wait to put up lights next to give the ambiance I’m looking for. Do better with instructions and better hardware . An amateur would get so frustrated trying to get those screws into the cement to make it secure we did a lot of “You tube videos to get it done. I love the look of this gazebo. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. My husband was able to assemble it by himself. We checked and rechecked the finished product with the instructions to make sure it was properly assembled. The only things I was not happy about is one of the chair backs is not stretched tight and droops a little and for some reason one chair was too close to the upright pole in the corner and was rubbing against it when you glide backwards in the seat. My husband was able to adjust it just enough to barely miss the pole and we're hoping it doesn't misalign after sitting in it through the summer. We just finished assembling this greenhouse and I’ll start by saying — it is very large. Bigger than I expected in the best way. Our plan is to put some furniture inside so we can actually enjoy sitting in it during the colder months, especially here in Ohio, and also extend our growing season for plants and vegetables when it’s too cold outside. It arrives in four very large, very heavy boxes. My husband and I assembled it together, and I strongly recommend organizing all the pieces before you start. There are a lot of parts, and it helps tremendously to get everything sorted out first. One important note: we do not yet have a concrete pad or platform built, so we assembled it directly on the ground. That definitely complicated things because the ground isn’t perfectly level. We had to use shims in several places to get pieces to line up correctly. If you can build a level base first, do it — it will make your life much easier. The instruction manual is extremely long. This is not a quick afternoon project. You absolutely need to be comfortable assembling large, detailed items. My husband and I both have a lot of assembly experience, and it still took us about ten hours. If you’re not experienced with big builds, I would honestly recommend hiring someone. A couple pieces were a little bent, but nothing we couldn’t fix easily. There were a few spots in the instructions that weren’t totally clear — particularly which direction certain metal pieces should face (upside down or backwards wasn’t always obvious). We were able to figure it out as we went, but it did require some problem-solving. I’ve also read elsewhere that the UV panels have a correct direction for installation. The instructions did not mention this at all, so we had to make our best guess and hope orientation doesn’t matter. Clearer guidance there would have been helpful. As far as materials go, the metal frame is high quality and thick. It feels sturdy and well-made. The panels also seem solid. My one concern right now is wind resistance. The listing claims it can handle fairly high winds, but we recently had 30 mph winds and the structure was definitely shaking and lifting slightly. The included stakes are not sufficient in my opinion, so we’ll be upgrading the anchoring system. I do love that there are two doors. Both are heavy duty and glide smoothly, which makes it feel more substantial. It’s currently February with snow on the ground, so we haven’t fully set it up inside yet. I plan to update this review once we have furniture and plants inside and after we see how it performs long-term — especially in stronger winds.
