I bought my first Haiku in 2012. Shortly after, Hurricane Sandy flooded our first floor (we were lucky), and that fan sat for ten months without climate control. For ten months, there was no heat and no AC. That fan is still running perfectly, and the bamboo foils are impeccable. We now own seven. Four are the outdoor rated as they are in Puerto Rico where we live with all the doors and windows open, close to the ocean. Heat and humidity and suspended salt water vapor are ever-present. It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954.
