Allows the hand to naturally follow the rail support all the way into the area. Finishes are as expected, black matte and only time will tell if they chip fade or crack. I love these sinks! I was looking for square sinks for our modern style home, but didn't want to deal with puddling water in the corners. This sink looks very sleek and modern without sacrificing function. The only issue I had was with packaging. The sinks were shipped in a box without padding. I ordered 4 and 3 came broken.
