Based on humidity levels, the fan auto-switches between three speed modes - a quiet 30 CFM at under 50% humidity, 110 CFM above 50%, and a powerful 160 CFM at 80% or higher to quickly clear steam and odors. Simply expand the four brackets to snap the eight latches into the frame, using the provided template for accurate placement.

Nice exhaust fan that we installed in a newly renovated bathroom . It’s quiet enough. One blade on the motor casing turned up broken - not sure if it arrived that way or if it happened during installation . We were able to glue it with super glue and it’s working great - no clicking noise . I wrote to the manufacturer and they sent me a new motor casing . I have it for the future if it ever needs to be replaced .. Jennifer. Orange, VA. Mon Jul 27 2026

This humidity sensing exhaust bath fan, energy star offers easy, room-side installation, with “No Attic Access Required”. Ceiling mounted ventilation fan features foldable mounting ears and EZ Duct connector for easy installation. New duct damper technology provides a tighter seal, resulting in reduced warm and cold air backdrafts. The humidity sensing feature will automatically turn the fan on when a preset level has been reached, thus allowing for proper ventilation throughout the room.

This is a nice fan!!! The description is not accurate, it has no light. It was not a surprise for me because I got a description from the Broan site using the fan's code AE50110DCS. I had AE50110DC and wanted to replace it with an automatic fan that turns on automatically when humidity is high and works for a specific period of time (it has a timer, a duration is up to 60 min). The fan allows the user to select a speed 50, 80 or 110 CFM. My previous fan (AE50110DC) had a permanent speed of 110. AE50110DCS at 110 makes the same level of noise as AE50110DC at 110. AE50110DCS at 80 is a little bit quieter, just a little bit. Therefore, I selected the speed 50 CFM which is really quiet for me. I set a humidity selector at 70% and a timer at 60 min. I know that for a 4PC bathroom the speed of 50 CFM is not enough but I keep a door to the bathroom open all the time and the fan will run for 60 minutes, then check humidity again and start a new 60-min cycle if humidity is above 70%. I guess it should be enough, time will show. I had a choice to buy a bigger Panasonic fan which is as quiet at 110 CFM as this fan at 50 CFM, but decided to use a fan with the same dimensions as my old one. In spite of the fact that this fan turns on automatically you may turn it on manually if necessary - turn a switch on, then off and on again.. Alexander. Kitchener, ON. Mon Nov 06 2023
