Super stunning. I wanted solid wood. I wanted beautiful grain. I wanted sturdy and welll made. This checked all the boxes. I was worried it would have the worry of shin banging as so many people reviewing platform style beds speak of but NO not with this one. The side and bottom rails stick out minimally..not much more than a regular sideboard of a standard bed. I was worried it would be too low. It's not. It's lower than a bed with a box spring but not futon low. The wood is gorgeous. The head board is sturdy and more so when situated up against the wall as it's meant to be. Tons of slats that screw into solid wood. It was spendy but I was planning on this bed for a really long time. It's so nice to say farewell to my box spring.
