It was a bit lower than I expected. But it's great product for it's price. The back braces wouldn't hold when the bench is in open position for lying down. This sofa arrived quickly and was pretty easy to assemble. I appreciated the supply of extra bolts and nuts. The cushions took no time to expand from their compressed packing and we had a fully functional patio couch in a few hours! The bottom cushions are thick and comfortable. The back cushions are not as thick but certainly adequate. The tabs on all cushions to secure them to the frame is a nice feature. One feature that stood out on this sofa is the weight capacity. Many of the other 3-seater sofas I looked at had capacities less than. 400 lbs. This sofa is rated at 900 lbs! Finally, the aluminum frame won't rust - a feature the iron/steel sofas can't match.. This table is pretty but we were quite upset that it arrived with rust and damage to it already. The leg was rusted enough that the rust actually fell out of the bag onto the rug with opening.
