Overall, I absolutely love this desk! It did arrive with a few minor issues that Wayfair rectified. This is a solid piece of furniture. I would definitely recommend paying for the delivery and setup. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece. That is the only reason for the four stars.. Taji. Nanuet, NY. Fri Jun 19 2026

The collection combines bold lines with a weathered, vintage finish and classic style elements. The collection will be right at home in either a classic formal setting or a relaxed, eclectic home.

Inspired by Charleston's classic coastal charm and rich history, this venerable secretary is finished in the heirloom-quality black cherry dark patina. Accented by hand painting on the drop-front lid, the secretary features a robust leather writing insert, 3 cubbies for storage, and 3 small drawers behind the drop-front, along with 3 lower drawers with self-closing drawer guides and cherry-colored interiors—pewter-colored pulls.

Feels like an antique one might purchase in Charleston. Very heavy. Had it in a bedroom and it worked as a desk and side table next to a bed. Now, it sits by the door for keys and mail as we enter the house. It works beautifully in that new spot as well.. M. Florida. Sun Aug 23 2026

Great desk, solid wood and packaged to get here un damaged. Fairly easy to put together, BUT. Instead of screwing in all three screws on the brace, put just the center screw in so will be able to adjust it as you build. Save some headaches. Love the hidden compartment. I don’t want to look at that computer after hours! Penny the pup approves this purchase!. Cheri. Chandler, TX. Sat May 16 2026

I bought this for my husband and he loves it. He told me not to spend the money but it looked really nice on website at good price. He likes that he does not hit his knees, also the quality is rather surprisingly very nice for the money. Would buy this again. Years later we change our mind on one thing. It’s small but still very nicely looking . You can easily hit your legs underneath so for that fact we would not buy it again. Would be great for a hallway piece with no chair, love the color. Very classy looking .. Anonymous. Gulfport Mississippi. Mon Jul 27 2026

Looks nice HOWEVER this thing takes hours to assemble. There is no partial assembly here, it’s all piece parts with a 20 PAGE ASSEMBLY MANUAL. The collection provides elements to create a truly inspirational office environment. Hand planked wood veneers in a rich, dark roast finish the color of freshly brewed coffee, show highlights of natural wood that has aged and is mildly distressed. Distressing includes rasping, chopping, and wormholes, solid wood plank tops that accent the dark finish and emphasize the wood's natural beauty for two-tone authenticity. Antique bronze hardware adds a shimmering touch.

Very good quality desk. Sturdy and attractive. The surface has a slightly weathered finish and the two tone desk blends nicely with the other furniture in my home office.. Missycher. Caldwell, ID. Wed Aug 20 2025

This exquisite secretary desk was handcrafted by artisans in Guangdong. The front panel, sides, and drawer faces are finished in beautiful black lacquer, hand-painted with delicate gold accents, and adorned with Mother-of-Pearl ladies. The front drops down to form a desktop, complete with a practical configuration of shelves and drawers.

This was a very nice item worth the money. Very unique.. Cindy. La Jolla, CA. Fri Sep 18 2026

Kingston emanates an air of an English country manor. A dark chocolate rub-through finish is softly worn to enhance the wood and give a naturally aged look to the collection. Criss-cross detail adds interest and dimension to drawer fronts and panels, while mottled antique hardware enhances the look of the group.

The desk is wonderfully sturdy yet elegant; a modern take on a classic style. The hardest part about putting it together was the heft - I hired my handyman to do it when it was clear this was not a job for one person (a non weight-lifting, 55-year-old female!) I am very pleased with the quality of workman ship although I suspect the top will scratch easily. Luckily, those scratches may add to the overall character of the piece.. Victoria. Beverly Hills, CA. Tue Jul 23 2024

Classic simplicity is paired with clever functionality in this Brileigh Solid Wood Desk with Hutch. With a top that closes, a pull-out writing table, and hidden drawers, this discrete piece makes office work a decor smart breeze. The finish makes Brileigh timeless.
