The finish is great. The style and adjustability, as well as the brightness of the light, all wonderful. This was the one item I splurged on for my son’s first apartment. Perhaps I’m old-school but every man should have a quality desk lamp, something that says that they aren’t afraid to buy quality. That’s what this lamp said to me. It is really nice, heavy lamp. A light bulb included would have been nice. I also dropped a star because it’s operated by a switch on the cord, not the fixture itself which may have been in the description but I didn’t anticipate that.
