This does what I expected and is very sturdy. We choose this track because it has the built in holes for the screws. However, the gate kind of bumps on the bolt heads which slightly protrude from the track - they’re not flush. This Y-latch is just what I was looking for, it is a little bigger then i needed, but it won't work with my gate. the space between the gate and the post is too small. I think you need at least 2in.
