So I was skeptical of the price, quality and engineering of this awning especially when I needed the larger 13x10 size, I was afraid it would be too flimsy but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the design and quality of this awning is very good. All the materials along with the engineering make it operate smoothly and efficiently the key is to mount it solidly and tighten all clamps so there is no movement. A bit of advice would be to not over tighten the small screws holding the two halves together they are meant to hold it together not for structural integrity. Common sense would tell you not to keep it open in a wind or heavy rain situation. My only complaint would be some of the directions get lost in the translation but the phone number they supplied was answered right away and the person on the other end was knowledgeable enough to answer all my questions. This is a fixed shutter-style product that is modular, DIY, and hand-crafted. The framework is made out of a beautiful commercial grade mill finish aluminum that is powder-coated and will not rust. The hardware is stainless steel and provides additional support to the durable frame. The powder-coating finishes are offered in black, bronze, copper, and pewter. Each finish has a resistant coating to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent moisture and soil buildup on the frame, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier that allows for rain to roll off of the awning. The performance of the awning is durable and can withstand harsh winds and heavy snow. Awntech guarantees quality and ensures that these stationary awnings have a long-lasting design and structure.
