It's a nice cabinet and heavy, but not solid oak as we had thought. It's an oak veneer and not all oak veneer in some spots so if you get unfinished staining doesn't work very well, so we had to paint ours. Love this piece! Adds a nice look to our living room and I love that there is no visible tv in the room. Took us a few hours to install particularly to get the height of the tv just right, but all in all it wasn't that difficult to do. Did not come with a shelf inside for components, which we were disappointed about. We ended up using large velcro strips to fasten our Dish receiver inside and it worked just fine with the remote.
