I searched extensively for a non-wood product that actually looked like real wood and was substantial. This is it. Installation was a breeze if you’re handy with a drill and saw. We used our old 3x3 mail post (with the mailbox support removed) and this post slid right over it. Saved us the step of having to sink a new post into cement, which was huge. The color issue is for Wayfair customer service and shouldn't affect the product quality review. The way they show it installed on the side of the house is pretty troublesome too.
