Our contractor vented it outside the house. He had to put some trim at the top to cover the holes, but it looks great! The cooktop works great, but I wanted induction. When I searched products by using the filters, this electric one was in the list. My fault for not double checking before I bought. The electric cooktop works great and heats food very quickly, but the surface is extremely hot, which is dangerously close to where my grandchildren sit at the counter. You will love the multiple sizes you can choose for the size pot or pan. It boils water fairly quickly. I like that you have to long press the buttons to turn on the elements so children wouldn’t accidentally turn on an element. I like this range hood it serves its purpose pretty well it is a little loud. we had a difficult time installing it because to me the instructions were not very clear we end up damaging the inner chimney and had to reorder and it took forever and then they sent us the wrong one then the right one was on backorder so it took a while to get a replacement part. I was very disappointed in this product. I was expecting a WHITE and copper hood. There is NO white on it. You might think the chimney is white at first but that is just the protective plastic layer that peels off. It is stainless steel/silver and copper. The handle was the only place I was expecting stainless steel, but it is the trim piece and the chimney as well. I have white cabinets and was wanting a look like what the pictures show but that is NOT what you will get. It looks nothing like the pictures as all of them show white.
