I've seen these newer afwalls being used hundreds of times since being introduced in 2008, and they have been nothing but really reliable and sensory-friendly for people on the spectrum. Unfortunately, there's a vocal group of haters on the internet who do not like this generation of afwall, but pay them no mind. The bowl of this toilet is deep enough compared to the older model that felt too shallow, like I was sitting on a clogged toilet. The new model, also, avoids siphoning out unnecessarily when you flush it, unlike the previous model that can do so unexpectedly and unnerve some people. I have not been able to have my contractor install this just yet as we are waiting for the soaking tub to be installed first. However, I am very impressed by the weight and quality of this 18” grab bar. It will be much needed as the soaking tub I also purchased from Wayfair is about 26”high and will require me to step over the side to get in, so a grab bar is essential. The hardware that comes with this includes two matching gold screws for each end of the grab bar and two wall anchors for each end. My contractor plans to install this into studs for added safety.
