These vintage style door levers are constructed of diecast and come in a beautiful finish. They feature a heavy weighted casting design and unique Silencer bushings for smooth operation. This set of levers is designed for indoor use only, and it includes one 2-3/4 inch steel spindle, and one 3-5/8 inch steel spindle with 3/8 inch-20 threads. These French style levers fit 1/4 inch square drive spindle systems commonly found in antique and vintage door hardware sets, and with the two (2) provided square spindles, it can adjust to accommodate doors of different thicknesses. The lever shanks include setscrews for fastening to the square spindles. All other components of matching vintage design must be purchased separately to include the internal mortise lock body, the door rosettes, the trim and strike plates, or the latch and fasteners. Note: These levers cannot be used on pre-bored doors that have large, newer style doorknob holes without first prepping them to receive this older-style hardware. Installation tip: Because the fasteners of the rosettes (purchased separately) require a solid surface to mount to, the large 2-1/8 inch (approximate size) holes must first be filled with a hardening filler, to then be able to receive the rosette fasteners. Products like Fix-It-All and Bondo Body Filler have worked well for some, but care must be used to avoid damaging any prefinished door surfaces during application and finishing.

This is an upgrade from the typical clamp handles. The inside handle has a wood handle attached to a black bracket and has a height of 2 inch from the door frame. The outside handle is black diecast. The clamp latch has a clamp profile of 1/4 inch and a clamp projection of 1/2 inch in the locked position. The handle has 4-15/16 inch on center mounting holes. It is non-handed and can be used on right or left-handed doors. It is non-keyed. Minimum door width of 7/8 inch and maximum of 1 inch.

The bottom passage-lock mechanism jammed the interior handle shortly after I had completed the installation, essentially locking me in the house. Luckily I was able to enter from the outside using the key. The mechanism still doesn't work properly. I don't have the time or patience to deal with returning and replacing it right now. The Rockwell Charlotte handles are the traditional sliding door handles. It is a 2 piece construction handle and is available in a back-to-back C handle or with an exterior finger pull. The Charlotte sliding door handles have a good finger clearance but do have a profile height of 1.95 inches and may not clear all screen doors. They come standard in a private version but are also available in a limited edition with the key locking cylinders preinstalled in the offset keylock position. The handles are Non-handed and suitable for either right or left-hand doors. The Charlotte handles are suitable for 0.171″ diameter screw-hole door face bores.
