I used this as picture frame moulding in a bedroom makeover. It was easy to paint. I used a miter saw to cut it and did have some edges that frayed a bit. Sanding helped. The result was absolutely beautiful. It is very easy to cut with a manual saw - it was easy to install and nail to the wall - as well as very easy to readjust in case of any errors. It is very forgiving as a product for beginners. I am also very pleased with the result. I would recommend to spray paint - or if you brush paint - pass two COATS.
