Bed feels quite sturdy and the drawers can be customized on either side - they don't attach to the bed but rather roll underneath. The base took a little extra time building with all the wooden slats being screwed together but that makes it very sturdy - no creaking at all! Beautiful wood that is probably more "orange" in person compared to the pictures. The base board looks a little different from that pictured - mine looked more like the headboard but it doesn't bother me and I'll keep it.
