Bed feels quite sturdy and the drawers can be customized on either side - they don't attach to the bed but rather roll underneath. The base took a little extra time building with all the wooden slats being screwed together but that makes it very sturdy - no creaking at all! Beautiful wood that is probably more "orange" in person compared to the pictures. The base board looks a little different from that pictured - mine looked more like the headboard but it doesn't bother me and I'll keep it. What I do not rate very high is the service I received from the "professional technician". I paid for professional assembly and what I got was a guy with Dewalt Drill who was very much in a hurry to get somewhere else, after I allowed him to change the appointment time (at his request). Looks great, feels great, and it was fairly easy to put together. The instructions may not be the best for someone that’s not really handy. It took me about 6 hours to include bringing in the boxes, opening them all and tearing them all down, tying up the boxes. and then assembling the bed. Well-engineered product - fit together well, no missing parts, only very light damage to the shipping carton, only one discrepancy in the instructions, put the whole thing together in under 2 hours including unboxing all the parts. Good quality although the bottom panel is ultra thin, would like to see this thicker. Still, the packaging was very efficient. The instructions were very easy to follow; didn't take us much time to put these together. One problem for us was that the measurements seemed to be good when I bought the drawers, but when they were out together the front panel didn't quite clear the bottom edge of the bed frame. This made it impossible to slide the drawers under the bed frame completely. I don't want the drawers to be sticking out or even flush with the frame, as we stub our toes on the drawers while making the bed or climbing into bed. We had to put extra height under the feet of the bed which isn't ideal. The front panel, while attractive, does not have to be so high. The side and back panels, as you can see in the photo, are not as high so there is no good reason for the front panel to have such an exaggerated height. I think the designer did this so you could put the drawers flush with the bed frame or even slightly sticking out, but we don't want that. If you want space for your feet to go under the bed, then these wouldn't work work. If you're handy with a skillsaw you could always cut off or shave off a little bit (we needed about 1/4") of the top of the front panel, but that was too much effort for us.
