These are really pretty and they'll work out for us. I was a little surprised that they are basically like Styrofoam- super light and thin so you have to be very careful not to crease or crack them. Probably not a great solution if they'll be up close but will work fine up on a ceiling or something where they're a little further away and you can't tell it's like Styrofoam. It can be glued over most stable ceiling surfaces including popcorn ceilings and painted to your likeness. The tiles are made from extruded polystyrene. These tiles will add beauty, sound dampening and insulation.

I started hanging these tiles from the center of the room and hang more than half up before realizing they were not straight. I took them down and removed all the adhesive by hand before hanging them back up. Make sure to draw chalk lines to get proper alignment. Also, I used a 3.5 gallons of FRP adhesive called TITEBOND FAST GRAB FRP to adhere to ceiling. This adhesive kept the tile from sagging unlike liquid nails. Absolutely stunning! Painted the plane styrofoam tiles with acrylic metallic paint, then antique with black acrylic paint. Used an instant grab glue to put tiles up. Simple, easy process. I had a cracked plasterboard ceiling where it had seam tape constantly coming apart. Surface was flat, but seam tape just would not hold... So, decided to try these Polystyrene Clue up Ceiling Tile.. I prepainted them white before gluing them up.. I got my center lines and started from center out so tile would be balanced on the ceiling... The ceiling looks great... Feels like I am sleeping in an old Victorian Church since ceiling are done. I liked it so much I installed these tiles in my small bathroom ceiling... Yes it’s styrofoam, but that makes it super easy to install IF you actually read the directions and use the correct adhesive. You can paint is using standard latex wall paint if you’re careful it’ll look amazing. Very easy to cut very easy to install. I painted mine first then over rolled and caulked the seams after I installed a few. If you get the 3d ones I would get an air sprayer and put 2 coats of paint on then install caulk and paint the seams. As with anything if you want good results read the directions first look up the videos and take your time. I have searched for quite some time to find a ceiling medallion for my walk-in closet chandelier. Most ceiling medallions sold online are flimsy hollow plastic but this one is solid wood and is absolutely beautiful! Of course I wanted a solid plaster medallion, but those are very expensive and typically purchased from a lighting company, but this one will definitely fit the bill since it was prefinished and all we have to do is put adhesive on it and put it on the ceiling. nicely made polystyrene pieces which are well designed, but require an expert carpenter for a quality installation due to slight variations from piece to piece, injected molded from similar but not identical molds. Per my carpenter, these were convenient, but required a tremendous of finesse and adjustments at every miter joint to look right. Quality glue (PL Premium) and a solid substrate that will not move (a grid of 1x3's glued and screwed to ceiling joists) are essential for stability. Overall "a wash" in terms of time and expense compared to having full boxes and mouldings constructed the old fashioned way. For the curved bay windows straight pieces needed to be hollowed out, bent, and carefully glued and tacked in place under high tension.
